The opportunity

The Coordinator, Cash Applications serves as an essential interface between Account Managers and Customers, ensuring effective communication and coordination across key stakeholders. The role supports the accurate and timely processing of transactions, reporting and other related activities through the use of ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications. It also manages competing priorities and deadlines, maintains accuracy and organisation, and supports the resolution of issues arising from day-to-day operations. The position sits within the Credit Department, reporting to the Manager, Credit.

The role

  • Daily application and validation of receipts from customers and Gildan companies, ensuring that these are entered accurately and in a timely manner in the General Ledger and Accounts Receivable sub-ledger.
  • Preparation of invoices and credit memos for intercompany transactions and customer credit notes for promotional and other rebates, ensuring supporting documentation is accurate and appropriately approved.
  • Set up accounts for ship-to and drop-to locations as requested, ensuring that the company remains compliant should goods be shipped to these locations.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements, including Accounts Receivable and payment reconciliations.
  • Assist with other responsibilities to support the department, including monitoring communications in the Credit Mailboxes and ensuring that these are promptly actioned and distributed to the relevant personnel within the department.
  • Ensure all activities are completed in accordance with company policies, internal controls and SOX compliance requirements.

The requirements

Knowledge & Expertise

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of two (2) years' experience in Accounts Receivable, Finance, Accounting or a related area.
  • Knowledge of cash application processes, payment posting, reconciliations, credit processing and account maintenance.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to company policies, procedures and SOX compliance requirements.
