March – Mid-September - Aquatics Coordinator
During our peak aquatics season, you will:
- Coordinate swim lessons, lifeguards, and pool schedules
- Support hiring, training, and supervision of aquatics staff
- Ensure safety, compliance, and quality standards
- Manage program registrations and participant communication
- Foster a safe, welcoming pool environment
You’ll help create confident swimmers and safe aquatic experiences for our community.
Mid-September – February - Youth Programs Coordinator
In the fall and winter months, you will:
- Coordinate youth enrichment programs and activities
- Support seasonal camps and specialty programming
- Supervise part-time program staff
- Ensure licensing and program quality standards are met
- Engage families and build strong relationships

POSITION SUMMARY
The Coordinator, Aquatics & Youth Program working as part of the branch management team, will help deliver world-class customer service and relationship building skills to create a welcoming environment at the YMCA. This is a position transition seasonally between two primary program areas to support community engagement and operational excellence.
From approximately March through mid-September, the employee serves as the Aquatics Coordinator, working as part of the Facilities Management team to create a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained aquatic environment at the Brighton Venture Center and Reunion Recreation Center. Under the direct supervision of the HOA Managers, this role is responsible for recruiting, training, scheduling, and supervising aquatics staff; ensuring high-quality member service; and maintaining a safe and clean aquatic facility, including pool decks and pump rooms, in accordance with all applicable health and safety standards.
From approximately mid-September through the end of February, the employee transitions into the role of Youth Programs Coordinator. In this capacity, the employee plans, coordinates, and oversees youth programs and seasonal events designed to build community and enrich participant experiences. Programs may include Kids Night Out, Kids N’ Canvas, childcare programming, board game nights, and seasonal events such as Christmas Crafts. The role may also support additional recreational programming throughout the year, including select adult engagement activities such as Bingo, Bunco, Poker Night, and themed social events.
Throughout the year, the incumbent is expected to model and promote the core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in all interactions with participants, families, staff, and community partners.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Maintain pool safety when delivering swimming lessons; deliver lessons that provide students with the best opportunity to acquire skills for their level
- Educate participants on pool rules and enforce rules as required
- Remain current on all CPR, First Aid and other safety certification training
- Report all accidents and incidents to your supervisor immediately using proper forms
- Proactively clean up and/or repair areas used by the program
- Be visible to members at all times-work towards branch membership retention goals
- Keep daily attendance records and complete level skill sheets
- Be in the water 50-100% of class time
- Communicate with all participants/parents regarding the status of classes
- Be knowledgeable and supportive of the YMCA annual support campaign, and general procedures and policies, including personnel guidelines, facility access procedures, membership policies, and emergency plans

Qualifications & BenefitsQUALIFICATIONS
- 21 years of age or older
- Must have American Red Cross/YMCA Lifeguard certification
- YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor certification -preferred
- Previous experience as a supervisor preferred
- Previous experience with pool maintenance and swimming lessons preferred
- Current CPR for professional rescuer, AED and Oxygen Administration
- Certified Pool Operator Certificate preferred, otherwise must obtain with 6 months of hire.
