Job Description

Plans, organizes, and directs the daily activities of Team members within a designated work area, with the objective to complete daily production needs while ensuring that safety, quality, and operational standards are followed. Responds to the needs of team members and audits the work to the standards. Makes team decisions for area of responsibility and serves as the first responder when team members need assistance.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Audits team member’s work hourly ensuring standard operating procedures and checklists are followed.
  • Uses the job instruction method to ensure team members demonstrate what, how, and why work is done a consistent way.
  • Trains, coaches, and develops team members so they can back up other positions of responsibility and grow as individuals.
  • Assists with creating and updating standard operating procedures and checklists.
  • Challenges team members to highlight issues or opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensures work team has appropriate resources to meet scheduling demands. Notifies Supervisor when team level is unbalanced to scheduled work load.
  • Leads 2 second lean continuous improvement activities in the work cells. Assists with improving safety, quality, productivity, and cost measures. Actively encourages team member’s problem solving and idea conception.
  • Analyzes work area and ensures that tools and equipment meet PPE and safety requirements. Reports near hits and safety catches when discovered and encourages safe behavior.
  • Assists with the daily tracking of department metrics and action plans assigned.

-Molding Coordinator Functions

  • Manages the quality area of the injection molding department and the first piece process.
  • Uses quality measuring equipment to ensure parts meet print and quality standards.
  • Gives breaks to team members as assigned by Supervisor.

-Assembly Coordinator Functions

  • Oversee hour by hour metrics and measures.
  • Oversees completion of the daily schedules

-Shipping & Receiving Coordinator Functions

  • Accurately tracks and records incoming and/or outgoing shipments with the objective to ship accurately and on time to Customers
  • Prepares required documentation as required
  • Ensures product is labeled correctly
  • Coordinates best cost shipping method with Purchasing, Planning & Logistics Team
  • Coordinates activities of shipping and receiving personnel
  • Maintains the recycle program administration (glass, corrugated & trash) compactors in the department
  • Coordinates MH Maintenance requirements with MH Equipment Companies
  • Data entry for Oracle system
  • Attends, schedules and conducts meetings
  • Confers with Supervisors of other departments to coordinate flow of materials or products
  • Prepares reports, slides, presentations and graphs as required for KPI’s and Key Results
  • Train New Employees
  • Develop rotation schedule for material handling activities

Candidate Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrates scientific thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to lead and motivate others.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable using computers such as Email, Microsoft Excel, and MRP systems
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments and work under pressure and changing responsibilities/work load.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach others and build effective relationships.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
