Schedule: On-site Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm

Earn: $19/hour

Position Details

The Coordinator manages incoming referrals from managed care organizations for patients admitted to psychiatric hospitals. This role involves coordinating discharge plans, maintaining daily communication with hospitals and managed care companies, and ensuring timely assessments by Merakey Assessors. The Coordinator also updates patient records, verifies insurance eligibility, and uses Microsoft Office tools to manage administrative tasks. This position reports to the Director of Assessments.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming referrals via secure email and fax.
  • Coordinate discharge plans with hospitals and Merakey Assessors.
  • Maintain daily contact with hospitals for timely patient assessments.
  • Communicate daily with managed care companies and update patient admin lists.
  • Assign members to Merakey Assessors and provide discharge dates and times.
  • Maintain and update client, referral, and discharge spreadsheets.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
  • Track and manage client authorizations.
  • Ensure completeness of assessments and authorization requests.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • One year experience in the healthcare office setting preferred
  • Strong computer skills utilizing Microsoft 365 applications such as Excel, Teams, and Outlook
