The Coordinator 2 of Academics Strategy & Analytics (ASA) is responsible for executing data analysis, reporting, and data management work that supports Academics departments. This role works within established systems and governance structures to prepare data, build reports, and support teams in using data accurately and effectively.
As part of the ASA team, the Coordinator partners with departmental staff and IT to ensure data is accurate, consistent, and accessible. The role contributes to cross-functional analyses and supports the development and maintenance of shared data systems and reporting tools. The Coordinator also provides direct support to teams by helping them locate, validate, and interpret data, reinforcing consistent practices and reducing duplicative work across departments.
1. Data Preparation & Management: Extracts, cleans, and organizes data from multiple sources for reporting and analysis. Maintains datasets to ensure accuracy, completeness, and usability.
2. Reporting & Dashboard Development: Builds and updates reports, dashboards, and visualizations using established tools and templates. Ensures outputs are clear, accurate, and aligned to defined standards.
3. Data Validation & Quality Checks: Reviews data for errors, inconsistencies, and missing information. Troubleshoots discrepancies and works with data owners to resolve issues.
4. Ad Hoc Analysis: Completes data requests and routine analyses for departments, including summarizing trends, calculating metrics, and preparing outputs for decision-making.
5. Data Product Maintenance: Maintains existing dashboards and reports, ensuring they remain up to date, functional, and aligned to user needs.
6. Coordination with IT & Data Teams: Submits and tracks data issues, supports testing of data pipelines or reports, and communicates clearly about data definitions and system changes.
7. Standardization & Documentation: Follows established data definitions, naming conventions, and processes. Creates and updates documentation such as codebooks, data dictionaries, and process guides.
8. User Support & Capacity Building: Provides direct support to staff by answering data questions, walking users through reports, and helping them understand how to find and interpret data.
9. Process Execution & Improvement: Follows established workflows for reporting and data governance while identifying inefficiencies and suggesting practical improvements.
10. Communication of Results: Explains data findings in clear, straightforward terms to non-technical audiences, highlighting key takeaways and limitations.
11. Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; master's degree preferred.

Familiarity with Microsoft suite including Fabric and PowerBi preferred
No supervisory responsibilities. May provide occasional work guidance, technical advice, and training to staff.

Position regularly makes recommendations to management on areas of significance to the department. Supervision received typically consists of providing direction on the more complex projects and new job duties and priorities.
Compiles and organizes data and figures.
Decisions are made on both routine and non-routine matters with some latitude but are still subject to approval. Job is occasionally expected to recommend new solutions to problems and improve existing methods or generate new ideas.

Errors are serious and difficult to discover, normally involve decisions not subject to detailed review and will result in excessive costs and/or significant project delays.

Leads others in the resolution of highly sensitive and confidential issues on behalf of the department. Acts as a trusted advisor and becomes involved in the customer's decision-making process including presenting alternatives and information and applying persuasion and negotiation skills in the resolution of problems.
Monitors customer service standards.
