Coordinates and supports HISD divisions on all interim assessment requirements, including but not limited to NWEA MAP, DIBELS, and TEA STAAR Interims. Interfaces with technology and other departments to match resources with project requirements. Directs professional development, coalition advancement, and resource acquisitions to meet district goals and objectives for student achievement.
1. Plans, organizes, and orchestrates partnerships between technology, curriculum, assessment, and campus-based staffs on interim assessments, including training programs and staff development initiatives.
2. Creates and leads training for each of the assessment programs including on demand support for campuses during the assessment windows.
3. Supports the Director in ensuring all incidents and security claims are handled in alignment with district protocols and integrity.
4. Works with other department staff to ensure alignment with the assessment strategy and program district-wide.
5. Manages all aspects of assigned assessment programs in cooperation with assessment staff and takes lead in optimizing interim assessment programs
6. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree required
3+ years’ experience with Texas public school district summative assessment programs including the state and national assessments.

No supervisory responsibilities. Leads through influence with campus test coordinators.
Work is non-standardized and widely varied, involving many complex and significant variables including significant time spent planning, evaluating complex solutions and issues, and negotiating outcomes.
Strong analytic ability and inductive thinking are frequently required to devise new approaches to situations where previously accepted solutions have proven inadequate. Position regularly makes recommendations to management on areas of significance to the division. Supervision received typically consists of providing periodic coaching, advice and feedback.

Job is frequently expected to recommend new solutions to problems, to improve existing methods/procedures/services and generate new ideas. Errors are serious and difficult to discover, normally involve decisions not subject to detailed review and will result in excessive costs and/or significant project delays.
Negotiate and influence - interprets department strategies and services, resolves conflicts, influences outcomes on matters of significance for the division, conducts final negotiations and coordinates approvals/decision making below the executive level. Interactions are typically with customers and Top Management.
Regularly assesses and diffuses complex, and escalated customer issues. Takes personal responsibility and accountability for solving systemic customer service problems. Regularly explores alternative and creative solutions to meeting the needs of the customer within HISD's policies and guidelines.
Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.
