Job Title: Refrigeration Cooling Engineer
Location: Johannesburg, South Africa
Salary: R30,000 R35,000 per month (depending on experience)

A leading company in the energy-efficient cooling and refrigeration industry is seeking a Refrigeration Cooling Engineer to join its technical team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and support of cold storage and pre-cooling systems, ensuring top-tier performance and client satisfaction across all projects.
Install, maintain, and service refrigeration and cooling systems at client sites
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to minimize system downtime
Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to HVAC and refrigeration equipment
Collaborate with the project and engineering team to ensure quality installations
Train clients on proper usage and maintenance of installed systems
Prepare detailed service reports and maintain accurate maintenance records
Adhere to all health and safety standards and protocols
Provide on-site or remote technical support as needed
35 years experience in commercial or industrial refrigeration systems
Trade certification in Refrigeration (NQF Level 4 or higher preferred)
Valid Safe Gas Handling Certificate
In-depth knowledge of cold room, HVAC, and solar cooling systems
Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
Strong communication and customer service skills
Based in Johannesburg, with willingness to travel to rural and peri-urban areas
Valid drivers license required
Experience in agricultural or fresh produce industries
Familiarity with energy-efficient or off-grid cooling technologies
Exposure to IoT-based monitoring systems
