ABOUT US

CYC Forest Edge is set on a beautiful 120 acre property on the banks of the LaTrobe River, catering year-round for 200+ guests at a time. We have the privilege of hosting a variety of groups with varying needs and objectives, from high-energy adventure focused programs through to relaxing retreats. As part of our Catering team you have the opportunity serve our guests through providing tasty, visually appealing and healthy meals, in a clean, pleasant, and welcoming camp environment.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Head of Catering, the Cook/Chef’s main goal is to ensure that our guests receive delicious and nutritious meals on time, in accordance with the food safety plan, and served with exceptional customer service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and cook meals as per the pre-arranged menu
  • Oversee special diets
  • Communicate with guests regarding the needs of their groups including dietary needs
  • Monitor food quality and presentation
  • Ensure food service areas are clean and organized.
  • Assist in the development and creation of new menu items.
  • Adhere to the food safety program and kitchen cleaning/maintenance programs
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring a high level of customer service and professionalism.

  • Relevant previous experience or qualification required
  • Strong knowledge in special diets
  • Knowledge of food safety requirements

  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Essential requirements:

  • A Victorian employee Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Valid rights to work in Australia

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
