Job Description

11pm Shift

General Purpose: Monitor and assist with the process of cooking and molding of cheese curds. Work with lab department to meet customer's expectations of cheese product.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adjust temperatures cheese cook temps as needed for different recipes
  • Mold cheese to proper weights and shapes
  • Adds correct amount of smoke flavoring to vats as required
  • Grind and add rework to the tables
  • Change molds as needed
  • Submit sample for lab testing
  • Complete production logs accurately
  • Ensure correct vat separation from the cooker to the brine
  • CIP the cooker
  • Performs table operator duties and covers them for lunch and breaks
  • Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
  • Dedicate effort to safety as we expect every employee to leave work in the same condition as they arrive
  • Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements
  • Exhibit the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America through honesty, discretion, and sound judgment
  • Attend required training, including but not limited to, Safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF)
  • Adhere to all DFA Quality, Safety and GMP policies and procedures and report any nonconformity
  • Responsible for monitoring and taking corrective actions when necessary for a critical control point as part of the plant HACCP plan
  • Ensure that all documentation is done correctly and turned in promptly

Pay

  • Competitive pay - $24.00 per hour based on experience
  • Rate includes $1.00 shift differential for hours worked between 6 PM and 6 AM

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred but not required
  • Must have basic math skills

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must participate in the safety observation program
  • Must follow all safety, GMP, CI, and HACCP programs
  • Must be able to work safely around chemicals and moving equipment
  • Must be able to maintain work area up to 5S standards
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
