You’re a great fit for this role if you love...

  • Preparing a variety of menu items according to standardized recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.
  • Working across different cooking methods, including roasting, broiling, baking, frying, steaming, and stewing.
  • Setting up, maintaining, and breaking down your assigned kitchen station.
  • Using both small and large kitchen equipment safely and properly.
  • Keeping your workstation, equipment, storage areas, and kitchen floors clean and organized.
  • Following proper procedures for food storage, product rotation, temperature control, cooling, and handling.
  • Identifying food safety hazards, equipment concerns, and maintenance issues and communicating them to leadership.
  • Helping maintain an organized, efficient, and professional kitchen environment.
  • Supporting and working alongside fellow Kitchen Curators to ensure smooth service and excellent guest experiences.
  • Controlling food waste and helping maintain appropriate food costs.
  • Taking pride in preparing food that consistently meets the standards of NOUN Hotel.

Education and Experience

  • Previous professional kitchen or culinary experience preferred.
  • Experience preparing food in a hotel, restaurant, or high-volume kitchen environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic cooking methods and food preparation techniques.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, temperature control, storage, and product rotation procedures.
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and portion specifications.
  • Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment and tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Managers and fellow Curators.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Food safety certification preferred, where applicable.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, push, pull, and move throughout the kitchen.
  • Ability to lift and carry food products, supplies, equipment, and other items as required.
  • Ability to work around hot surfaces, ovens, fryers, steam, sharp equipment, and other kitchen hazards while following established safety procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining cleanliness, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, based on business needs.
