Job Description

TPC River Highlands is a private golf club located in Cromwell, Connecticut, just outside of Hartford. As the proud host of the PGA TOUR’s Travelers Championship—the state’s largest professional sporting event—it stands as one of the premier destinations in the TPC Network. The Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality menu items while maintaining strong standards of food safety, cleanliness, and efficiency. This role supports daily kitchen operations and contributes to a consistent, well-executed dining experience for members and guests.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations, and safe food handling practices acquired through culinary experience or formal training preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Prepare menu items to order in accordance with recipes, plating standards, and portion control guidelines
  • Maintain prep and organization for assigned station using daily line inventories
  • Perform a variety of cooking and preparation techniques, including grilling, sautéing, frying, baking, roasting, and basic knife work
  • Prepare stocks, soups, sauces, proteins, vegetables, and starches using standard recipes
  • Operate, clean, and maintain kitchen equipment and workstations throughout the shift
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards in kitchen, storage, and waste areas
  • Assist with banquet and event preparation as needed
  • Support kitchen leadership and collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service and timely ticket execution
  • Operate within established company policies, safety standards, and TPC Brand Standards
  • Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned

Pay Range: $19-24/hr

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; kneel;use hands to handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee must regularlylift and/or move up to 25pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, color vision, distance and peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
