About the Home

Our Clayton care home is set within a lively community 25kms from the CBD, surrounded by a hospital, supermarket, and schools. It consists of 155 beds, with a variety of care types. Our primary goal is placing our focus on the health, lifestyle and well-being of our residents.

About the Role

As a Cook at our Clayton care home, you will provide well-presented and nutritious meals in a home like environment. Your passion for food along with your person-first approach will make a real difference to the life of our residents. This is a permanent full-time position.

Duties

• Plan and prepare well balanced and nutritious meals for our residents
• Liaise with residents, families, and the care team to ensure residents’ dietary, individual and cultural needs are met
• Support the efficient functioning of kitchen and catering services
• Comply with all infection control and food safety procedures
• Perform administrative duties related to the kitchen operation such as stock taking, and food quality assessment

Skills and Experience

• Previous experience in the preparation and delivery of meals within a similar environment
• Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is preferred but not essential
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to solve problems independently
