Cook prepares and cook meats, fish, vegetables, soups and other products as well as prepare and portion food products prior to cooking. This position performs other duties in all areas of the kitchen including dish area when needed. They may prepare food as a line cook on order to order basis or may prepare large quantities of food in a cafeteria setting. Cook 2 assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods. Cook 2 is also responsible for setting up prep stations, stocking inventory and maintaining sanitation standards. Must be available to work weekends, nights and holidays.
ESSSENTIAL/PRIMARY DUTIES:
Prepares, seasons, and cooks’ food
Ensures that prep stations are stocked
Prepares simple components of each dish on prep list provided by the Chef
Carves portions of meat, fish, or fowl for individual servings
Ensures food and prep areas meet health and safety standards
Assists in preparing, cooking, and storing food, as well as maintaining kitchen and storage facilities in sanitary condition
SECONDARY DUTIES:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma with a ServSafe Certification, Level 2 ODH Certification and2-4 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
