Position: Dietary Cook

Supervisor: Director of Facilities Management

Necco has an opportunity for a career as a Dietary (Cook). This role will add the most value to the company by providing the best customer service to our residents during mealtimes.

Position Requirements:

  • Timely prepare and portion food items for meals and snacks according to daily menu, special events and special needs. Preps for upcoming daily meals as assigned.
  • Assist in the organization of all foods and service ware used in meal service or for a special event (i.e. foods placed on the serving line, soups, tableware, serving utensils, etc.).
  • Prepare food items following recommendation of dietician as well as ODE/mandated requirements.
  • Accommodating to a flexible schedule for customer service of clients
  • Follow ODJFS regulation to meet residential dietary guidelines.
  • Ensure that all food items left over from meal service are stored or disposed of properly.
  • Ensure proper amount of food is prepared.
  • Ensure all policies and procedures regarding the delivery, receipt, storage of foods and supplies are followed.
  • Ensure cleanliness in all cottage kitchens & food service areas according to policy both internal & external i.e. state/local regulations. .
  • Ensure that all food items are in proper storage containers.
  • Attend at least (3) optional trainings per calendar year
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

  • High School Education or equivalent
  • Prior experience/training in food service operations is preferred.
  • Successful completion of all required criminal background checks, annual TB tests & any other documentation as required by licensing agency.
  • Successful completion of all required criminal background checks
    • Background checks including but not limited to FBI, BCI, ARCS, SACWIS/ Alleged Perpetrator Search, & National Sex Offender Registry Search
    • An individual is not eligible for employment if either of the following is true:
      • The individual’s alleged perpetrator results show a finding of substantiated abuse or neglect within the past ten years.
      • The individual is listed on the national sex offender public website.
  • Adult/Child CPR/First Aid
  • Knowledgeable computer skills including accessing email, internet & Microsoft office.
  • Interact in a pleasant and professional manner with other employees, physicians, providers, agencies, patients, and patient’s families to promote a team effort through cooperation and respect for fellow employees.
  • Carrying/lifting/transferring (min 50 lb.), communicating, stooping, kneeling, squatting, reaching, standing, walking and repetitive activity. Performing physical interventions.
  • Ability to see, hear, feel, and verbalize.
  • May be exposed to fumes/odors, body fluids/blood/tissue.
  • Complete required hours of orientation training and any other training required by regulations.
