<div><strong>Position Summary</strong></div><div>Prepare and / or directs the preparation of food to be served complying with all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards and following established food production programs and procedures. Ensure appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste, and fraud.</div><div><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong></div><div>The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:</div><ul>
<li>Prepares food served using established production procedures and systems.</li>
<li>Complies with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards. Observes proper food preparation and handling techniques.</li>
<li>Stores food properly and safely by marking dates and items.</li>
<li>Reports necessary equipment repair and maintenance.</li>
<li>Correctly prepares all food served following standard recipes.</li>
<li>Keep work area neat and clean at all times; clean and maintain equipment used in food preparation.</li>
<li>Complete food temperature checks before service.</li>
<li>Performs other work-related duties as assigned.</li>
</ul><div><strong> </strong></div><div><strong>Basic Qualifications</strong></div><div>
<strong>Education/Training:</strong> A high school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must be 18 years of age.</div><div>
<strong>Skill(s):</strong> Moderate reading and writing skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less; manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.</div><div>
<strong>Experience:</strong> Prior experience in related food service positions required.</div><div><strong>Standard Requirements</strong></div><ol>
<li>Supports the Mission, Values and Vision of (<em>the company</em>) and the facility.</li>
<li>Safety, including universal precautions and safe work practices, established fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and security, report and/or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs.</li>
<li>Compliance with current law and policy to provide a work environment free from sexual harassment and all illegal and discriminatory behavior.</li>
<li>Supports and participates in common teamwork:</li>
<li>Cooperates and works together with all co-workers; plan and complete job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including appropriate judgment.</li>
<li>Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations.</li>
<li>Completes requirements for acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned.</li>
<li>Must meet USCG physical examination requirements.</li>
<li>Must submit to pre-employment drug testing and will then be subject to random screenings as per the US Coast Guard.</li>
</ol><div><strong>Job Location</strong></div><div>Dishroom, kitchen, serving areas and off location as assigned.</div><div><strong>Equipment/machines used in the performance of this job</strong></div><div>The incumbent must maintain skills necessary to safely and efficiently operate the following equipment and machines used in the performance of this job:</div><ol>
<li>Kitchen equipment, i.e., oven, stove, dishwasher, slicer, coffee machine, steamer, mixer, and chef's knives.</li>
