Your contribution!

Reporting to the Senior Manager – Operations & Maintenance, you will work closely with other cook staff, site personnel, contractors, and lodge guests to support camp operations.

Your day-to-day!

Prepare and serve meals for employees and contractors staying at the lodge

  • Provide packed lunches when required
  • Plan meals effectively to minimize waste
  • Clean and store utensils, dishes, cooking equipment, and kitchen supplies
  • Organize kitchen areas and receive, store, and manage incoming food orders
  • Prepare and submit grocery orders based on occupancy forecasts and meal plans
  • Allocate rooms to incoming guests and ensure accommodations are ready before arrival
  • Ensure clean bed linens and towels are available and beds are properly prepared
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the lodge and common areas
  • Perform a comprehensive weekly deep clean of the facility, including bathrooms, floors, and common spaces
  • Ensure all linens and towels are properly washed and sanitized between guest stays
  • Dispose of waste in accordance with established recycling and waste management procedures
  • Monitor camp equipment and tools, reporting repair needs to the Operations Manager and Site Supervisor
  • Comply with all safety, health, and operational procedures
  • Support overall lodge operations as required

Your skills, our requirements!

  • High School Diploma

  • Culinary certification

  • Food Safe Level 1 certification

  • First Aid certification is considered an asset

Experience:

  • Previous professional cooking experience in a similar environment such as camps, lodges, restaurants, or industrial accommodations

  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Experience managing meal preparation and kitchen operations independently

  • Ability to use a computer for email, food ordering, expense submissions, and time reporting

Professional skills:

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills

  • Ability to manage time and resources effectively

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with other cooks and site personnel

  • High level of dependability, accountability, and commitment

  • Strong customer service orientation and commitment to meeting the needs of guests and staff

  • Ability to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and service quality

  • Comfortable with living and working onsite for extended periods in a remote industrial camp environment

  • Ability to work independently and confidently manage kitchen and lodge operations when working alone

Technical skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and Word

  • Basic computer skills for administrative and operational tasks associated with lodge management and food ordering systems

Additional considerations!

  • The position can be based in the company's Toba site in British Columbia.

  • This position is a S2 level.

Pay Transparency Statement

Compensation for roles at Innergex varies based on a wide range of factors, including skill set, education, and relevant experience. We are committed to pay equity and take internal equity among current team members into account when determining any final offer.

To support pay transparency, the hiring range for this position is $30.00–$35.00 per hour, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. Your final base salary, if hired, will be determined by factors such as your skills, education, and experience, along with our commitment to internal equity.

Please note that it is not typical to hire at the top of the hiring range, as doing so limits opportunities for future salary growth. Innergex also offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package.
