This position is for our Extendicare Eaux Claires Home, located in Edmonton, Alberta

What you’ll be doing

  • Reviews regular and therapeutic menus and sets up equipment and supplies for food preparation.

  • Prepares food and nourishments in accordance with prescribed diets.

  • Maintains all required records and monitors quality and quantity of food.

  • Ensure use of proper food handling techniques

  • Maintains a clean and organized kitchen, ensuring all work areas meet sanitation and safety standards.

What you bring

  • 2-3 years' minimum experience as a Cook

  • Current Food Handler`s Certificate

  • Must have experience in large quantity food preparation, preferably in a healthcare or retirement setting

  • Must be knowledgeable of the Provincial Food Premises Regulation and Canada's Food Guide to Healthy Eating

  • Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand for majority of shift

  • Must provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one
