CLASSIFICATION: Part-Year (August-May) Part-Time Hourly

BASIC FUNCTION:

Provide Head Start children with nutritious and appealing meals and snacks, manage food and supply purchasing, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure the kitchen is kept clean, safe, and spotless.

SUPERVISOR: Cook

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare meals for breakfast, lunch, and snack using the cycle menu and production spreadsheets.
• Ensure meals are visually appealing, taste good, and are served in accurate portions for the age group.
• Deliver meals classrooms prepared for family style service.

All positions require a background check, drug test, and physical.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Work Experience Required: None.

Education and Training: High school diploma or GED

3. Special Conditions: Ability to lift 40 pounds, stoop, bend, and reach. A valid driver’s license and a driving history acceptable to agency insurer. Involves extensive organizing, problem solving, record keeping, and time management.
