We are hiring a Cook at our Station Square PriceSmart Foods location in Burnaby, BC.

The successful candidate must have open availability and be available for 40 hours per week.

You will be responsible for:

• Going the Extra Mile for our customers and fellow team members.
• Assisting the Head Chef with quality control, scheduling and shrink control.
• Supporting the restaurant department with inventory management, day-to-day ordering and period-end counts.
• Supporting with the implementation and execution new and seasonal menus based on recipes and restaurant programs.
• Supporting the Head Chef train and coach the restaurant team according to established standard procedures.
• Handling customer service inquiries and providing a positive customer experience that is focused on Always Customer First service.
• Preparing and cooking food on a regular basis, including for special guests or functions.
• Ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
• Cleaning equipment and work area to ensure a safe, and sanitary work environment.
• Using a variety of equipment, including knives.
• Other duties as required.

You Have:

• Minimum of 1 year of previous restaurant experience.
• Experience making a variety of Asian hot foods and cold foods such as sushi, dim sum, stir fry and BBQ.
• A passion for great food and outstanding service.
• Food Safe Certification and good working knowledge of W.H.M.I.S. (considered an asset)
• Retail, customer service experience (considered an asset).
• Fluency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese (considered an asset).

Compensation Details:

$18.25 - $21.00

The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience, and other factors.
