Cook|BlueCare| Gympie Aged Care Facility

  • Employment Term: Permanent Part Time, 18 hours per week minimum

  • Roster:Please clearlystateyour availability for shifts on your application questionnaire. Shifts can start as early as 6am and may include weekend work

  • Remuneration:$30.40per hour+ Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging + Penalties & Allowances

About the role

The Cook supports the delivery of ahighquality, safe andresidentcentreddining experience by preparing andpresenting meals that meet organisational standards, dietaryneedsand resident preferences. The role works underthe direction of the Home Services Lead and collaboratively with the Chef to ensure meals are enjoyable, consistentand contribute to resident dignity,wellbeingand comfort.

As a key member of the kitchen team, the Cookmaintainsa clean,safeand efficient work environment, followsestablishedproceduresand supports positive interactions with residents,familiesand colleagues.You will be organised, motivated and take pride in delivering excellent service, supporting residents with the following

  • Prepare,cookand serve meals in line with corporate menus,recipesand dietary requirements

  • Ensure all meals meet IDDSI, allergen, cultural and texture-modified needs

  • Deliver meals that are well-presented,appetisingand served at the correct temperature

  • Support food preparation, portioning,platingand kitchen operations

  • Follow safe food handling,hygieneand infection control standards

  • Complete documentation including temperature checks, cleaninglogsand production records

  • Identifyand report hazards,incidentsor equipment faults

Role requirements:

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent experience)

  • Food safety knowledge and safe food handling practices

  • Understanding of special diets,allergensand IDDSI requirements

  • Ability to work effectively in a team and follow direction

  • Strong communicationand teamwork skills

  • Commitment to resident-centred care and positive dining experiences

  • Basic computer and documentation skills

  • Experience in aged care or healthcare food service (highly regarded)

  • Satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or organisational policy
