PERMANENT RELIEF JOB POSTING

Classification: Cook Department: DIETARY

Status: Relief – no guaranteed hours Pay Grade: As Per Union Agreement

Availability Required: 30% availability Positions: 2 positions available

Under the direction of the Cook/Working Supervisor, the employee will prepare food items, cook meals, set up serving area and serve food. The employee will clean equipment and work area, receive and store food supplies, rotate stock, open and close kitchen. The employee will ensure quality control, orientate new staff in the area, prioritize and perform duties in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with standards and regulations.

Qualifications: Grade X education, Journeyperson Cook certificate (900 classroom hours), thirty (30) months previous experience which includes twenty-four (24) months apprenticeship time (4500 hours), plus six (6) months post-ticket experience working in an institutional setting.

Anticipated Start Date: ASAP

FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES:

Shifts – 6.0 hours, or 8 hours. Employees will be required to work any combination of days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
