We're looking for a skilled and passionate Cook to join our dynamic culinary team in Toronto. In this role, you'll play a vital part in delivering exceptional food experiences to our guests and clients. Whether you're preparing breakfast, lunch, dinner, or special catered events, your expertise and dedication will make a meaningful difference.   • Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold food items for multiple meal periods throughout the day
  • Follow recipes precisely and independently while maintaining consistency in food quality and presentation standards
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, adhering to all manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work station and kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Accommodate diverse dietary requirements and restrictions while ensuring all meals meet nutritional and quality standards
  • Collaborate with kitchen team members and other departments to ensure smooth operations and timely meal service
  • Manage time effectively to meet meal preparation deadlines while maintaining high-quality output
  • Assist with inventory management and food storage
  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing menu items, special events, and operational needs
  • Continuously seek opportunities to learn new cooking techniques and improve culinary skills

Qualifications

**Required Education & Certifications:**

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Food Handlers Certificate or equivalent food safety certification

**Required Experience:**

  • Minimum 2+ years of related food preparation or cooking experience in a professional kitchen setting

**Required Skills & Competencies:**

  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
  • Proficiency with standard kitchen equipment and tools
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow recipes independently and accurately
  • Basic computer skills for kitchen management systems
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on food quality and consistency
  • Professional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Physical capability to stand for extended periods (up to 12 hours), lift up to 35 pounds regularly, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Experience with batch cooking or high-volume food preparation
  • Knowledge of dietary restrictions and specialized meal preparation
  • Familiarity with food cost management and portion control
  • Experience in healthcare, hospitality, or catering environments
  • Culinary training or certification from a recognized institution
