Job Description

Job Purpose or Objective(s): The Cook 2 is an experienced level position and is responsible for patient meal preparation. You will report to the Supervisor/Manager on duty.

Full Time | Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM | $15.95/hr

Primary Tasks:

  1. You will prepare different ingredients to be cooked to include washing, chopping, slicing, and peeling of fruits and vegetables.

  2. Cook food to include baking, broiling, frying, steaming, braising, and boiling; provide meals that are cooked, tasty and visually appealing; taste foods before serving and provide garnishes for food plates.

  3. Provide high quality, fresh food to guests using standardized recipes following the Oklahoma Diet Manual; assist in creating menus.

  4. You control the level of waste by proper production levels and converted portion guidelines.

  5. Store and label prepared and open food following the Choctaw Nation food safety guidelines.

  6. Practice proper food storage; follow suitable food serving temperatures and documentation.

  7. Maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized work environment by practicing proper housekeeping procedure such as cleaning while working.

  8. Help with set-up, service, and clean-up of food production.

  9. Rotate stock to ensure usage and disposal occurs before the expiration date.

  10. Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned.

Requirements:

  • Food Handlers Permit through Choctaw Nation
  • Knowledge of the Oklahoma Diet Manual
  • Ability to read and follow recipes
  • Two [2] years directly related experience
