Job Description

Reporting to the Manager of the ADC, the Cook 2 plans and prepares meals and snacks’ purchases food items and supplies in accordance with established procedures; provides direction to Cook 1s, food service workers, clients, and/or volunteers, maintains a high standard of cleanliness and safety in the work area; and performs related administrative functions. QUALIFICATIONS:Education & Experience Graduation from a recognized 12 month program in cooking or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience. Current Food Safe Certificate required.Knowledge & Abilities• Knowledge of food preparation, baking and meat cutting.• Ability to prepare meals and to maintain required standards in food preparation, cleanliness and care of equipment.• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.• Ability to deal with others effectively.• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.• Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines.• Ability to operate related equipment.• Physical Ability to carry out the duties of the position.The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
