The Co-Occurring Therapist plans, organizes and implements clinical counseling services to consumers and families. Plans for discharge and aftercare. Maintains contact with referring agencies, treatment team providers, and related people, and with the community resources used for referral. Maintains treatment records. Assess and interprets data about the consumer’s status in order to identify each consumer’s needs and provides the appropriate care, including age-related care, needed by the consumer group. Must demonstrate knowledge of the stages of change, a wellness and recovery model, and ASAM placement criteria (American Society of Addiction Medicine).

Education, Skills, &

Experience:

Master’s Degree in counseling field with at least one year of experience required. Licensed to practice therapy in New Jersey as a LAC/LSW/LPC/LCSW required. Actively working towards certification as CADC or licensure as a LCADC in New Jersey, required.
