Job Description

COO Risk Business Analyst

Full-time | COO – Financial Risk

At ING, we believe it’s your ideas that matter. As part of our team, you’ll work in a dynamic, international environment where you learn at a fast pace and be hands-on from the start.

Your new role and work environment
A great opportunity has become available for a Business Analyst to join our ALM Core team in the Financial Risk Tribe of COO Risk. COO Risk sits right at the heart of the Bank’s regulatory transformation portfolio and corresponding operational activities. We are heavily involved in various key risk metrics. For example, we translate our rather complex banking business exposures into impact on risk-weighted assets, calculate NII, IRRBB and provisions in line with the constantly changing business desires and the latest regulatory requirements.

At the Financial Risk Tribe of COO Risk, you help build the foundation that enables ING to make sound financial risk decisions every day. We provide the platform and processes that underpin critical risk management and regulatory decision-making across areas such as market risk, liquidity risk and balance sheet management. Working at the intersection of Risk, Finance, Treasury and Technology, we drive automation, modernise risk platforms, improve data quality and strengthen the resilience of the risk landscape. By translating complex risk and regulatory requirements into scalable solutions, our teams help ING remain safe, compliant and future-ready while accelerating the Bank’s digital transformation.

The ALM Core team has been established to strengthen the delivery of strategic and/or regulatory ALM change projects and improve alignment across stakeholders. It acts as overarching expertise team across the data ingestion, QRM processing and analysis&reporting product groups. In recent years QRM has been rolled-out as single global Asset and Liability Management platform supporting both global and local requirements. Now it is time to further develop end-to-end coordination within the Financial Risk Tribe and collaboration with Financial Risk and Group Treasury business stakeholders. Aligning delivery with strategic business priorities and allowing COO Risk to act as active business partner.

We are looking for a professional with an interest in complex matters, who is keen to construct, change and implement new requirements and streamline existing processes. Your focus area is the end-to-end ALM chain of data ingestion, processing and reporting. Understanding of the bigger picture and collaboration across functions and business lines is key. A natural interest in optimising processes, looking for solutions and risk modelling is required to be able to coordinate effectively in between the teams. As a Business Analyst you will actively work with colleagues across different product groups to deliver upon the roadmap of the respective project. You get energy from using your analytical skills to bring complete solutions for the requested change and get these developed by our Tech colleagues. Examples of potential activities:

  • You lead business analyst activities;

  • You play an active role in building a planning, solving impediments together with the teams involved;

  • You act as a linking pin between the stakeholders and the implementation team/domains;

  • You actively manage stakeholder relationships across Financial Risk, Group Treasury, Finance and Technology, ensuring that business priorities are understood, challenged where needed and translated into actionable delivery plans;

  • You shape and structure business demand by clarifying scope, assessing impact and supporting prioritisation of roadmap items based on regulatory urgency, business value, dependencies and delivery capacity;

  • You communicate progress, risks, decisions and trade-offs in a clear and structured way, helping stakeholders understand the impact of changes across the end-to-end ALM chain;

  • You work on strategic topics, like new regulatory requirements / extension of our data;

  • You build the bridge between business and IT.

How to succeed

We hire smart people like you for your potential. Our biggest expectation is that you’ll stay curious. Keep learning. Take on responsibility. In return, we’ll back you to develop into an even more awesome version of yourself.
