Job Category: ExecutiveCharlotte Behavioral Health Care (CBHC) is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to serve as our Chief Operating Officer (COO). This executive leadership position plays a critical role in overseeing operational, clinical, administrative, and financial performance across the organization’s behavioral health continuum of care. The COO will partner closely with the CEO and executive leadership team to ensure the delivery of high-quality, accessible, compliant, person-centered, and financially sustainable services while advancing the organization’s mission, strategic priorities, and long-term growth. The ideal candidate is a collaborative and results-driven leader with strong operational and financial management experience. This individual must demonstrate the ability to lead organizational change, support workforce development, improve operational efficiency, manage complex healthcare operations, and maintain a strong commitment to quality care and regulatory compliance.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide executive oversight for operational, clinical, and administrative functions across assigned programs and departments.
- Lead organizational operations to ensure quality service delivery, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and financial sustainability.
- Oversee operational performance related budgeting, productivity, staffing utilization, overtime management, contract labor, and workforce effectiveness.
- Monitor operational and financial performance data, identify trends and risks, and implement corrective action strategies when necessary.
- Collaborate with Finance, Human Resources, Compliance, and Program Leadership to support organizational performance and strategic initiatives.
- Lead performance improvement initiatives, operational planning, and implementation of agency goals and priorities.
- Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, collaboration, and continuous quality improvement.
- Represent CBHC with community partners, funding agencies, regulatory organizations, and healthcare stakeholders.
- Assume operational leadership responsibilities in the absence of the CEO.

Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Behavioral Health, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field required.
- Preferred Florida licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Mental Health Counselor, Clinical Social Worker, Psychologist, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Psychiatric APRN.
- Minimum five (5) years of clinical experience.
- Minimum three (3) years of management or executive leadership experience involving operational oversight, workforce management, budgeting, program development, and strategic planning required.
- Knowledge of Florida Baker Act and Marchman Act processes required.
