About the role:
The Conveyor Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of conveyor systems used within the logistics and warehouse environment. The role requires hands-on technical expertise in mechanical systems, electrical controls, sensors, and conveyor motor operations. The technician ensures that conveyor belts and automated material handling systems are running smoothly, with minimal downtime, to support operational efficiency. This includes conducting routine inspections, diagnosing mechanical or electrical faults, replacing worn components, adjusting alignment, and ensuring that safety and compliance standards are maintained at all times. The Conveyor Technician also documents maintenance records, reports recurring problems, and assists in improvement initiatives related to machinery uptime. In coordination with the engineering or maintenance team, this role supports the continuous operation of distribution centers and warehouse environments. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, good problem-solving skills, and a safety-first mindset are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct routine inspections of conveyor belts, motors, rollers, and related equipment
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to minimize unplanned downtime
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in conveyor systems
Replace or repair worn parts and ensure system calibration is accurate
Maintain logs of maintenance activities and issues resolved
Ensure compliance with safety procedures during maintenance and repair work
Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergencies to resume operations
Collaborate with engineering, warehouse, and safety teams to support operational continuity
Maintain tools and parts inventory for conveyor system upkeep
Suggest improvements for enhancing equipment reliability and performance
Requirements:
Diploma or Technical Certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Maintenance
2–4 years of hands-on experience in conveyor maintenance and repair
Technical understanding of conveyor systems (mechanical and electrical)
Troubleshooting and repair skills
Basic computer literacy for maintenance reporting
