This is not a remote or flex location position; employee is required to come into the facility for their regular schedule.

Job Level: Maintenance Mechanic II

Internal Grade Salary: 008

Work Schedule: Sunday through Thursday from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM; full‑time, 40‑hour‑per‑week

This position involves maintaining and supporting an automated conveyor systemin a physically demanding, fast‑paced operational environment, requiring frequent bending, lifting, climbing, standing, walking, and working at elevated heights or in confined and uneven spaces while wearing required PPE.

The role requires a high level of mechanical aptitudeand basic electrical knowledgeto safely operate, inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain powered equipment and vehicles, as well as the ability to lift, push, pull, and manipulate equipment and packages of significant weight. Employees must work effectively in variable environmental conditions, communicate clearly, follow directions, exercise sound judgment, read and interpret information and signage, complete required paperwork or electronic records, and cooperate within a diverse team while maintaining schedule flexibility for varying shifts, overtime, and additional hours as business needs require.

The job requires frequent bending, lifting, climbing, standing, walking, and working at elevated heights or in confined and uneven spaces while wearing required PPE. A high level of mechanical aptitude and basic electrical knowledge are necessary to safely operate, inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain powered equipment, as well as to lift, push, pull, and manipulate equipment and packages of significant weight.

• Familiarity with reading schematics and layout drawings

• Maintain and support UPS automated conveyor and AS/RS equipment(including sorters, belts, rollers, motors, drives, cranes, shuttles, sensors, and scanners) to ensure safe, reliable, and on‑time package flow within the operation

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical issuesimpacting automated material‑handling systems, using schematics, system diagnostics, and standard UPS maintenance procedures to minimize downtime

• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and adjustmentsin accordance with UPS BaSE standards, manufacturer specifications, and CMMS work orders to prevent equipment failure and unplanned service interruptions

• Follow all UPS safety policies and procedures, including lockout/tagout, fall protection, PPE requirements, and electrical safety practices, while working at heights, in confined spaces, and around energized and moving equipment
