Job Description

This position will be based at a factory in Washington, PA, but will report to the Director of Controls and Integration, and will support Audia sites beyond Washington, PA.

Responsible for the emergent repair, planned upgrade, on-site support, and remote support of technically complex electrical systems. Lead projects focused on improved reliability, better data visualization, and improved safety and quality production habits through electrical integration of components and systems. Provide training and documentation to plant personnel to ensure proper operation and recovery of critical systems. Support the electrical infrastructure to allow new expansions in a global organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead planned upgrades of existing control systems to include electric motors, drives, machinery controls, operator interfaces, and Machine LAN development and maintenance.
  • Ensure Audia’s PLC programing protocols are followed in new and existing PLC programs.
  • Expand remote access, backup of critical systems, monitoring systems, and recovery plans for production and support equipment.
  • Lead development of drawings, specifications and computations for electrical systems equipment such as switchgear, electrical panels, power control components, motors, pumps, fans, cables, cathodic protection, and heating devices.
  • Support emergent repairs of production equipment in a defined region.
  • Assess current electrical documentation and create a plan to prioritize documentation that is needed such as P&ID’s, one-line diagrams, arc flash.
  • Test equipment and isolates defects.
  • Ensure best routes for power supplies and communication within panels and throughout facilities.
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate program of assigned engineering work and projects.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of project or existing designs and change if necessary.
  • Estimate cost, reliability, and safety factors.
  • Use computers extensively to produce and analyze designs.
  • Guide plants in electrical strategy that will manage future risk Supervise technicians and other engineers during development and installation phases.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Technology degree in electrical, computer, or electronic engineering or technical certifications in similar fields.
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication skills are required and experience as trainer is preferred.
  • Certifications provided by Rockwell or business partners preferred.
  • Must be familiar with industry codes and standards affecting design work in designated discipline.
  • Must have experience with electrical troubleshooting and problem solving in PLC and electrical panel environment.
  • Knowledgeable on 70E arc flash and IEEE 519 requirements/recommendations

Working Conditions

  • Manufacturing Environment
  • Travel of 20% typical. Some higher travel based on project work.
