We are seeking dedicated Mechatronics or Controls Engineers to join our team and play a key role in the design and implementation of powerful material handling automation systems. This position offers the opportunity to work independently with minimal mentorship across a wide range of responsibilities, including hardware and software design, technical documentation (such as calculations, design specifications, and test plans), and leadership of internal and customer-facing technical reviews. You will also mentor junior engineers, contribute to the successful execution of multiple medium-to-large projects (typically up to 3,500 controls engineering hours), and collaborate with multi-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions. Tasks and Qualifications:

This is What you Will Do in This Role:

  • Hardware and Software Design of Material Handling Automation Systems working independently
  • Responsible of the preparation Documents as calculations, design specifications, Description of Operations and Test Specification working independently
  • Delegate, prepare, review and present documents for Technical Reviews Internals and with Customer working independently
  • Lead Technical Reviews working independently
  • Mentor and share knowledge with less experienced engineers
  • Typically has the responsibility for development and design of multiple projects or of single projects with moderate to considerable complexity that are medium to large in size, (typically not more than 3500 controls engineering hours)
  • High opportunities to travel across a number of our customer locations in order to fulfill the work requirements working independently

Specific Responsibilities – Electrical (HW) Design:

  • Interpret design input information to produce control system designs.
  • Delegate (if apply), prepare, and review of all associated documentation including, but not limited to, design calculations, design specifications, operation and maintenance manuals, and test specifications.
  • Design and production of electrical layout and schematic drawings using appropriate CAD tools.
  • Procurement of electrical and control components and liaise with suppliers on technical matters
  • Communicate progress and status with more senior engineer/Project Lead/Section Mgr
  • Delegate (if apply), prepare, review and present Material for Technical Reviews (Internal and for Customer)
  • Audit other team member Drawings
  • Elaborate with more senior engineer guidance the Description of Operations of the system.
  • Design Industrial Networks following Dematic and Industrial standards (ASi, Profibus/Profinet, CAN)
  • Procurement of electrical installation services and liaise with suppliers on technical matters
  • Liaise with electrical installation supervisors and subcontractors
  • Lead the development and design of single or multiple projects with complexity from medium to large size (typically no more than 3500 controls Engineering Hours)

Specific Responsibilities - Software Design - using prescribed guidelines and policies:

  • Design Complex conveyor controls software using programming tools such as AB Logix Designer, Siemens TIA Portal/Step 7, etc.
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) parameters configuration according to specific applications.
  • Creation of Embedded Conveyor Controllers (ECCs) configuration and parameters files.
  • Lead Software Technical Review Meetings with Standards and SAE Groups.
  • Creation of Conveyor System Emulation Models for further testing.
  • Perform Complex conveyor systems emulations ensuring the functionality of controls software and devices configurations previously designed.
  • Create Output Documents for Commissioning such as Commissioning Checklists, IP Spreadsheets, Configuration files, others.
  • Design of Functional Safety of Machinery Programs following both Dematic and Industrial Safety Standards.
  • Document findings and/or results achieved according to dematic standards such as: Best Practices, Standard Work Packages (Procedures Step by Step), New processes, application guidelines, and manuals.
  • Share Created documents with less Experience engineers on forums such as but not limited to: Trainings, Spreadsheets, Manuals and others
  • Mentor less experience engineers on the ramp-up process when enters to the company and constant follow up.
  • Communicate, solve and track progress status to peers, project leads and managers. Able to remove roadblocks.

What We Are Looking For:

  • 5-10 years of successful experience in related field. Including but not limited to:
  • +4 year Experience in the Automation Engineering work environment
  • +4 Year Experience on the selection of electrical automation components and develop electrical Drawings
  • +4 Year Experience with PLC SW Development and/or Code Debugging (Siemens/ABB/Becoff)
  • +2 Year Experience on Material Handling Automation Projects or Environment
  • Desirable +2 Year Experience Leading Team Automation Projects
  • Desirable intermediate Knowledge of budgets handling for Projects"
