Zeeco is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Control Engineer to lead Feed (Front-End) Engineering and instrumentation design activities for global flare, combustion, and pollution control projects. The role involves developing FEED deliverables, preparing instrumentation engineering documentation, supporting proposal and procurement activities, coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, and ensuring compliance with client specifications, international standards, and project schedules.

The ideal candidate will possess 10+ years of experience in Instrumentation & Control Engineering within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refining, EPC, or Process Industries, with strong exposure to FEED engineering and instrumentation deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

    FEED & Instrumentation Engineering

    • Execute Instrumentation & Control engineering activities across FEED, Basic, and Detail Engineering phases.
    • Prepare, review, and validate P&IDs in coordination with Process Engineering.
    • Develop and review instrumentation engineering deliverables, including Instrument Index, Datasheets, Specifications, Hook-up Drawings, Loop Diagrams, Cable & JB Schedules, I/O Lists, Cause & Effect Matrix, Alarm & Trip Schedules, Wiring Schematics, Installation Details, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
    • Prepare Material Requisitions (MRs), Technical Bid Evaluations (TBEs), and purchase requisitions for instrumentation packages.
    • Review vendor drawings, calculations, and technical documents to ensure compliance with project specifications.
    • Controls & Automation

      • Develop engineering deliverables for PLC, BMS, ESD, FGS, and SCADA interface systems.
      • Prepare I/O architecture, control philosophy documents, control narratives, and functional logic diagrams.
      • Coordinate instrumentation interfaces with electrical systems, control systems, and packaged equipment.
      • Proposal & Procurement

        • Prepare E&I estimates during the proposal stage and provide technical support to Sales and Proposal teams.
        • Develop Material Take-Offs (MTOs), procurement plans, and purchase requisitions.
        • Manage RFQs, perform techno-commercial evaluations, recommend vendors, and maintain approved vendor databases.
        • Process Safety & Compliance

          • Participate in HAZOP, SIL, and other process safety reviews.
          • Ensure instrumentation designs comply with applicable IEC, ISA, API, NFPA, ATEX, NEC, and client standards, including hazardous area requirements.
          • Project Coordination

            • Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and commissioning teams to ensure timely project execution.
            • Interface with customers, EPC contractors, consultants, vendors, licensors, inspection agencies, and Zeeco's global offices.
            • Mentor junior engineers, resolve technical queries and vendor deviations, and ensure engineering deliverables meet quality, schedule, and budget objectives.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong expertise in Instrumentation & Control Engineering for process plants.
  • Extensive experience in FEED and Detail Engineering deliverables.
  • Proficiency in preparing and reviewing P&IDs and instrumentation documentation.
  • Strong understanding of control systems including PLC, DCS, BMS, ESD, and SCADA architectures.
  • Experience in instrumentation sizing and specification of field instruments including:
    • Pressure Instruments
    • Temperature Instruments
    • Flow Instruments
    • Level Instruments
    • Control Valves
    • On-Off Valves
    • Analyzers
    • Working knowledge of hazardous area classifications and intrinsic safety requirements.
    • Experience with vendor document review, procurement engineering, and technical bid evaluations.
    • Exposure to HAZOP, SIL, and functional safety studies.
    • Knowledge of international engineering standards including IEC, ISA, API, and NFPA.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, or a related Engineering discipline.
  • 10+ years of Instrumentation & Control Engineering experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refining, Chemical, EPC, or Process Industries.
  • Experience working on international FEED and Detail Engineering projects is highly preferred.
