We are seeking a Finance Business Partner (AVP) to join our Financial Markets Controller team within Corporate Finance – Belgium, based in Makati. This role is part of Global Finance for Belgium, a team dedicated to providing strategic financial insights and advice to support ING’s Financial Markets business.

As part of a small, high-performing team, you will work closely with senior leaders in Wholesale Banking – Financial Markets and contribute to initiatives that drive smarter, more efficient ways of working. Your focus will be on delivering actionable insights and strategic advice that truly make an impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted sparring partner for senior management in strategic and tactical decision-making.
  • Deliver timely, accurate reports and analysis to support business decisions.
  • Design and present financial and non-financial insights through Quarterly Performance Reviews, Strategic Dialogues, Dynamic Planning, and Monthly Analysis
  • Advise on operational efficiency, cost modeling, allocation methodologies, and financial planning and control
  • Monitor cost trends and update Rolling Forecasts periodically.
  • Perform run-rate analysis, identify cost efficiency opportunities, and prepare business cases for change programs
  • Analyze actual spend vs. plan using dashboards and other tools; provide variance explanations and actionable recommendations.
  • Maintain full control of P&L costs and FTEs, including review and approval of requisitions, cost charging, and analytical reviews.
  • Ensure effective management of management accounting data sources and monitor implementation of organizational changes (Info Memos, RFAs).
  • Executive Communication Prepare and deliver clear, compelling presentations and narratives for senior stakeholders, translating complex financial data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborate closely with finance colleagues and non-finance stakeholders to ensure transparency, consistency, and actionable insights

Key Capabilities/Experience & Minimum Qualifications

Furthermore, you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field, Experience in banking, particularly Financial Markets
  • Advanced studies in Finance (e.g., Master’s degree, MBA, CFA, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
  • 5-8 years of experience in FP&A, finance advisory, or business controlling roles.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, cross-functional collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Ability to create clear and compelling PowerPoint presentations to communicate financial insights.
  • Strong Communication Skills - Proven ability to put a story from the numbers and communicate insights effectively.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Advanced Excel, including Power Query Power BI and other visualization tool, Familiarity with SmartView, Hyperion, Essbase, or TM1 is a plus.
  • Strong learning agility and a proactive, self-starting approach to problem-solving.
  • Passion for continuous improvement and driving efficiency through automation.
  • Open to candidates from other industries with strong technical and analytical capabilities.
