Job Description

Manitowoc is currently looking for a Finance Controller (M/F) to join its team at the Baltar facility in Portugal. In your new role, you will be responsible for overseeing controlling, finance, tax, and compliance activities for the company’s entities in Portugal and Spain.

Major responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):

  • Develops budgets, forecasts, and financial models;
  • Analyzes financial performance and provides strategic insights.
  • Compiles for the legal entity the plan information coming from product lines and operations on P/L & BS.

Reporting and Compliance:

  • MEC (Month End Close) Prepares accurate monthly financial statements and reports
  • Ensures compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements

Internal Controls and Risk Management:

  • Implements and monitors internal control systems for SOX compliance
  • Identifies financial risks and proposes mitigation strategies

Cost Control and Efficiency:

  • Oversees cost management initiatives
  • Identifies opportunities to improve financial efficiency and reduce waste.

Cash Flow and Treasury Management:

  • Cash flow / treasury forecasting and banking relationships;
  • Ensures optimal use of financial resources;
  • Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable analysis.

Audit Coordination:

  • Coordinates internal audits;
  • Ensures timely resolution of audit findings.

Strategic Support:

  • Acts as a business partner to senior management;
  • Supports strategic initiatives with financial analysis and scenario planning.

Tax:

  • Supervise Non local tax returns
  • Prepare tax stream
  • Prepare the detailed file for the transfer pricing health check and final review

Team Management:

  • Strong focus on talent development and continuous learning
  • Skilled in resolving conflicts and fostering a positive work environment
  • Effective delegation and workload management
  • Strategic resource planning to meet deadlines and business needs
  • Sound decision-making aligned with company goals
  • Commitment to compliance with internal policies and ethical standards
  • Skills and Qualifications:
  • Between 8 to 10 years of experience in Controlling and Financial areas
  • Educational background in Economics and/or Management
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented and rigorous
  • Good negotiation skills

  • Good conflict resolution skills
  • Deadline-driven and reliable
  • Thorough and meticulous
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • High technical knowledge of taxation
