Job Purpose

To lead and manage import-related compliance and documentation under the EPCG and Advance Authorisation schemes, ensuring tax optimization and regulatory adherence for capital goods, raw materials, catalysts, and chemicals. The role involves vetting purchase orders and contracts, coordinating with procurement and technical teams for timely application and availability of authorisations, and monitoring material movement to prevent detention and demurrage charges. It ensures post-import conditions are fulfilled and documentation is submitted for closure, while overseeing verification of custom broker bills, obtaining approvals for incidental charges, and maintaining MIS for import activities across ports and airports.

Key Responsibilities

Post Import Activities – EXIM & Customs

  • Maintain day-to-day import activities and update the import master data.
  • Monitor customs clearance activities of imported goods at various ports and airports across India.
  • Ensure proper control and tracking of receipt and distribution of Bills of Entry for GST credit.
  • Check and process CHA bills as per ARC and submit to F&A.
  • Prepare demurrage approval notes as per DoA.
  • Maintain DMS by updating month-wise Bills of Entry.
  • Follow up collecting final documents of Crude & Coal imports from IST and F&A Mumbai.
  • Submit application for final assessments of Bills of Entry with Customs in coordination with CHA and Customs.
  • Prepare and file refund application of NCCD refund.

EPCG & Advance Authorisation Application

  • Coordinate and collect data, documents, and declarations for EPCG application to the EXIM team at Mumbai.
  • Purchase orders from buyers.
  • Pro-forma invoices from buyers.
  • Technical write-ups, justifications, and declarations from users.
  • Catalogues and drawings from users.
  • Coordinate with the tax team at Mumbai for EPCG application.
  • Coordinate with the tax team at Mumbai for Advance Authorisation application.

Registration of EPCG Authorisation

  • Prepare Bond/LUT and other registration-related documents and declarations.
  • Submit complete registration documents to CHA and arrange for registration.
  • Coordinate with CHA for registration of EPCG and Advance Authorisations.

Installation Certificate for Imports Held Under EPCG

  • Collect data and documents from systems and technical teams for preparing the IC application.
  • Prepare and submit the IC application to customs authorities for obtaining installation certificates.

MIS & Miscellaneous Work

  • Provide import data for MIS to Head Office, insurance team, F&A, EXIM team, and auditors.
  • Maintain control sheets for EPCG applications and installation certificates.
  • Assist F&A team with queries related to import shipments, Bills of Entry, and CHA bills.
  • Support internal teams with urgent issues or tasks.
  • Follow up with CHA for Bills of Entry, CHA bills, or any import-related queries.
  • Maintain Crude & Coal final assessment MIS

Knowledge

Educational Qualifications & Certifications:

  • Graduate/ Postgraduate with EXIM experience

Relevant (Functional/Level) & Total Years of Experience:-

  • Total Exp.: - 10-16 Years

Skills

Functional Skills:

  • Well-versed in FTP, EXIM and Customs related matters.
  • Regular updating of new custom provision, notifications and circulars under Foreign Trade Policy and Procedure.

Behavioural Skills:

  • Taking initiative independently for carrying out tasks and speedy disposal of work.
