$200,000–$250,000 DOE

Position Overview

A growing general contracting company is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee accounting and financial reporting operations. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting expertise, experience managing complex financial records, and the ability to take ownership of financial reporting. This hands-on role requires someone organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment. Yiddish speaking preferred.

Requirements

  • Strong background in accounting, financial reporting, and bookkeeping oversight.
  • Proven experience in a Controller or similar senior accounting role.
  • Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements, including profit and loss reports.
  • Experience managing high transaction volumes and complex financial operations.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Construction or general contracting industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily accounting operations and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Manage and support the existing bookkeeping team.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports.
  • Provide clear financial reporting and insights to ownership.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accuracy.
  • Coordinate with external accountants on financial reporting and tax preparation.
  • Improve accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Ensure timely reporting across multiple active projects.
  • Must-Haves
  • Extensive hands-on accounting and financial reporting experience.
  • Ability to independently oversee the accounting function.
  • Strong knowledge of financial statements, reporting, and accounting controls.
  • Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced business environment.
