Primary Purpose: Provide leadership and operational oversight for the district's financial operations and business systems under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer. Coordinate and oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, financial systems administration, position control, workflow automation, data integrity, and continuous process improvement. Ensure that business operations support the instructional goals and objectives of the district and contribute to the attainment of district and campus performance objectives. Serve as a key financial and operational resource to the Chief Financial Officer and collaborate with district departments to ensure effective, accurate, compliant, and efficient financial operations and business systems.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, business administration, management information systems, or a related field
TASBO certification or willingness to pursue appropriate certification preferred
Knowledge of Texas public school finance, governmental accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
Knowledge of GASB standards, PEIMS/TSDS reporting requirements, and applicable state and federal financial requirements.
Knowledge of school district financial management/ERP systems, position control, system security, reporting, and data integrity.
Ability to analyze financial and operational data, identify trends and discrepancies, and develop effective solutions.
Ability to develop, evaluate, and improve accounting procedures, internal controls, business workflows, and automated processes.
Strong leadership, communication, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, project-management, and personnel management skills
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Texas public school finance, accounting, or financial operations
Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience
Computer, financial management/ERP systems, spreadsheet and database applications, document management systems, calculator, copier, scanner, and other standard office and business technology.
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); work with frequent interruptions; manage multiple priorities and deadlines; interpret policy, procedures, and data; coordinate district functions; maintain emotional control under stress.
Occasional district and statewide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours.

*Salary is commensurate with experience
