Position: Group Controller

Location: Markham IN-OFFICE with (frequent travel in the GTA)

Salary: $140-150k plus benefits, bonus and RSP

Role Overview

Based out of the NA HQ, this role will manage multiple entities and have several direct and indirect reports. Responsibilities will include but to be limited to:

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage financial accounting and reporting
• Perform detailed general ledger analysis and collaborate with operations and finance teams to prepare complex or high-risk journal entries.
• Support the monthly consolidation and group close process.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting in accordance with IFRS, including review of balance sheet reconciliations, management provisions and P&L analysis.
• Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivables, inventory, fixed assets, and the general ledger.
• Strengthen and maintain a robust internal control environment to safeguard assets, ensure data integrity, and best practices across all business units
• Lead the development of annual budget, quarterly/monthly forecasts acting as trusted financial business partner.
• Partner with operational and functional leaders to align on financial operating model, key performance indicators (KPIs), financial objectives, and strategic initiatives.
• Lead, develop, and mentor the business unit's finance and accounting team
• Drive standardization and alignment of processes, reporting formats, and systems across business
• units as part of the organization's transformation efforts, including new ERP implementation.
• Serve as the primary finance conduit between business operations and North American finance leadership.
• Qualifications:
• CPA designation
• Minimum 8+ yrs progressive senior financial leadership experience
• Strong financial reporting expertise, ideally gained in the construction or manufacturing industry
• or an adjacent and similarly complex sector.
• Solid technical grounding in accounting principles (IFRS), compliance, reporting and internal
• controls.
• Strong ERP system knowledge and demonstrated experience within process improvements, upgrades or implementation projects are valued.
• Experience within a fast paced growing organization
