
Spare Time Entertainment operates 18 family entertainment centers across 12 states. Bowling, arcades, food, drinks, events, and a lot of moving parts. We are a hospitality business at heart, which means our financials are built on volume, margin, and speed. We recently relocated our corporate office to Huntersville, North Carolina, just outside Charlotte.
Reporting and Close
Own the preparation of accurate, timely financial statements including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow
Ensure compliance with GAAP
Manage the general ledger and keep account reconciliations current and clean
Support the annual budgeting process and build periodic forecasts
Analyze performance against budget and forecast, then translate what you find into recommendations leadership can act on
Monitor and report on variances before they become surprises
Provide financial analysis for business decisions, investments, and cost saving initiatives
Develop and maintain internal controls that protect company assets
Ensure compliance with tax regulations, audits, and statutory requirements across multiple states
Coordinate internal and external audits
Oversee cash flow management, forecasting, and liquidity planning in partnership with the CFO
Work with the CFO and executive team on long term financial strategy
Implement and optimize financial systems and tools
Streamline accounting procedures to improve productivity and reduce errors
Make sure the tools we have are actually being used well
Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team
Set performance goals and build a culture of continuous improvement
Progressive accounting leadership experience, ideally in a multi unit or multi state environment
Strong technical accounting foundation and comfort owning a full close cycle
Real fluency with AI and analytics tools, and a track record of using them to make finance work faster and better
Scrappy and hands on. You are comfortable being both the person who sets the strategy and the person who builds the schedule
Ability to explain financial results to people who do not work in finance
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA
Experience in entertainment, hospitality, restaurants, or another product driven business where COGS and labor drive the model
Experience implementing or upgrading an ERP or financial reporting system
You will have the room to build something. This role has real visibility with executive leadership, real ownership of the function, and real influence over how an 18 location business runs.

They continue to move forward with their growth strategy for new site selections and will open two new centers in 2023 located in Omaha, Nebraska and Madison, Wisconsin.
