Job Description

Would you like to take on a broad Controller role where you combine financial control, reporting, and business analysis in a growing international company? A role where you can influence processes, support key business decisions, and help shape a developing finance function? If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.

At Antaros Medical, we are pioneering imaging methods such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Positron Emission Tomography (PET) to design and deliver clinical trials for decision-making and differentiation in drug development.

We value competence and development as much as ideas and solutions. Relationships and trust are key to success, and having fun while doing meaningful work is just as important to us. We currently have around 160 employees across our offices in Sweden and the US, and we continue to grow and evolve.

As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a Controller to join our Finance team. This is a newly created role where you will work closely with the CFO and help strengthen financial reporting, business support, and finance processes across the organization and the wider group.

This is a broad and hands-on Controller role combining financial control, accounting, project controlling, and business analysis. You will support reporting, project follow-up, and process improvements while working closely with stakeholders across the business. The role spans multiple legal entities within the Antaros Group and includes both operational finance responsibilities and contributions to group reporting and consolidation activities.

You will be part of a small and collaborative Finance team consisting of the CFO, an Accountant, and the Controller, offering broad exposure across the organization and the opportunity to make a tangible impact from day one.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Control & Reporting
  • Take ownership of monthly closing activities, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

  • Ensure accurate revenue recognition and project-related accounting.

  • Manage year-end closing, annual reports and audit processes.

  • Actively contribute to group consolidation and reporting activities.

  • Support and further develop accounting processes and financial controls.

  • Act as a key finance partner to the management team, the Accountant and the CFO.

Project Controlling & Business Analysis
  • Monitor the development of revenue, margins, project profitability and KPI such as utilization rate, price per hour and backlog.

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.

  • Prepare management reporting, financial analyses, and business insights.

  • Work closely with project managers and business leaders to improve financial visibility and decision-making.

Process Development
  • Drive improvements in financial processes, reporting, and ways of working.

  • Contribute to increased automation, efficiency, and reduced manual administration.

  • Help build structure, documentation, and scalable routines within the finance function.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a broad role where accounting and financial control form the foundation, complemented by analytical and controlling responsibilities. You are comfortable balancing hands-on accounting activities with reporting and analysis in a small and collaborative Finance team. You thrive in a dynamic environment and enjoy taking ownership across a wide range of finance processes and responsibilities.

Above all, you are highly structured and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of quality and accuracy. You have strong analytical skills and enjoy translating financial data into meaningful insights that support business decisions. As a strong communicator, you enjoy collaborating with stakeholders across the business and building effective working relationships.

You are also proactive and hands-on, with a passion for creating structure, improving processes, and helping develop the finance function as the company grows.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, and closing processes, combined with hands-on experience of operational finance activities and a broad finance or controlling role, preferably within a small to mid-sized company.

  • Relevant university degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.

  • Professional fluency in both Swedish and English, written and spoken.

  • Experience from project controlling or finance roles in a project-based business environment.

  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.

  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition, accruals, and accounting processes.

  • Experience supporting annual reports, audit processes, and collaboration with external auditors.

  • Advanced Excel skills for reporting and financial analysis.

  • Experience working with ERP or financial systems.

Advantageous

  • Experience from life science, consulting, professional services, CRO, or other project-driven organizations.

  • Experience with group reporting and consolidated financial reporting.

  • Experience with payroll processes and/or knowledge of Swedish payroll legislation and regulations, with the ability to support payroll-related activities when needed.

  • Experience with Power BI.

  • Experience driving process improvements, automation initiatives, or finance transformation projects.

About Antaros Medical

Antaros Medical was founded in 2014, with a mission to deliver innovative imaging solutions for decision-making in drug development. This mission was and still remains driven by the huge unmet need for improved medicines and tools to support their development.

To meet this need, we develop and tailor imaging solutions to help pharmaceutical companies understand how their drugs work in the human body. This gives our customers support to make decisions about how to progress with their drug development projects, and helps reduce the risk and cost of getting new medicines to patients. This is really the essence of why we exist.

We have grown into a global company with over 150 employees, at our headquarters and our CoreLab imaging facility in Sweden, and our subsidiary in the US. We work primarily with metabolic diseases, such as diabetes, and diseases that affect the heart, liver and kidneys, and also in the oncology field.

The global clinical trials that we carry out range from small, early-stage studies to large, late-stage trials. We are proud to have worked with many of the big pharma and biotech companies and of our collaborations with academia.
