Job Location: Hauppauge, NY 11788

We are seeking an experienced Controller to help oversee our accounting and finance department.
In this diversified role, you will be responsible for:
- Day to day supervision of the accounting & purchasing department
- Banking transactions: wires/transfers, debit/credit cards
- Monthly interim financials
- Annual reporting to government agencies
- Assist in annual budget preparation
- Oversight and participation in the year end audit
- Grant reporting on a quarterly basis
- Responsible for annual CFR reporting
- Computing Educational spend downs
- Check approvals
- Revenue cycle management: reviewing rates, recoveries, write-off’s
- Sedcar billing
- Review journal entries
- Review monthly aging reports
- Oversee 1099’s
- Participate in assigned agency committees
- Special Projects and AD Hoc reporting

Qualifications We require
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- Minimum 4 years related experience in a mid to large size organization
- Knowledge of (GAAP) general accounting principles and practices.
- OPWDD or other not for profit experience strongly preferred
- Strong Computer literacy with intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and Internet search ability.  Must have knowledge and experience with V-lookups and pivot tables.
- Excellent organizational/communication skills are essential.
- Ability to multitask and meet all deadlines.
- Self-starter with strong work ethic and can do attitude.
