Job Description

Controller position is ONSITE, NOT HYBRYD, OR REMOTE

This role will oversee all day-to-day accounting functions, financial reporting, treasury management, budgeting support, and internal controls while partnering closely with executive leadership to drive operational and financial performance. The Controller will play a key leadership role within the organization and serve as a business partner to the CEO and broader C-Suite team.

The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong manufacturing accounting experience, a deep understanding of cost accounting and GAAP principles, and a passion for continuous improvement in finance and operational processes.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Reporting

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
  • Prepare and oversee financial statements, reporting packages, and KPI dashboards
  • Analyze financial performance, account fluctuations, trends, and operational results
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP accounting standards and internal controls
  • Support annual audits and coordinate with external auditors

Accounting Operations

  • Oversee all accounting operations including:
  • General Ledger
  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Billing
  • Treasury and cash management
  • Sales and use tax compliance
  • Manage liquidity, cash flow forecasting, and working capital optimization
  • Ensure timely and accurate vendor payments and customer billing

Manufacturing & Cost Accounting

  • Maintain and improve cost accounting processes in a manufacturing environment
  • Analyze standard costs, variances, inventory valuation, and operational performance
  • Partner with operations leadership to improve margins and drive efficiencies
  • Support inventory controls and manufacturing financial reporting

Strategic & Operational Support

  • Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, FP&A, and ROI analysis
  • Support implementation and improvement of ERP and financial systems
  • Assist with operational improvement initiatives across the business
  • Develop financial models and analysis supporting growth and investment decisions

Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor accounting staff while fostering accountability and continuous improvement
  • Improve processes, workflows, and reporting efficiencies within the finance organization

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
  • CPA preferred
  • 7+ years of accounting/finance experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • GAAP Accounting
  • Cost Accounting
  • Financial Reporting
  • Internal Controls
  • Experience leading month-end close and financial statement preparation
  • Strong Excel and financial systems experience
  • Experience managing AP, AR, treasury, and cash flow
  • Self-starter with strong ownership mentality and leadership skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Global Shop Solutions ERP
  • Experience in a standard cost manufacturing environment
  • Experience working within a private equity-backed company
  • Experience driving finance transformation and operational improvements
