The Controller is responsible for the accounting and IT business functions. Partnering with the General Manager and other leaders, this key role involves furnishing data, analysis, and valuable insights to facilitate decision-making across the business, while prioritizing risk mitigation and customer-centric approaches. Moreover, the Controller oversees the generation of periodic financial reports, maintenance of accurate accounting records, and management of comprehensive controls and budgets. This ensures heightened accuracy of financial results and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire financial management process, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of management financial statement and reports.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing accounting and IT team, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment, assisting with day-to-day operations as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial laws, regulations, and accounting standards such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards)
  • Implement effective internal controls to safeguard assets and minimize financial risks. Regularly assess and mitigate potential financial risks for the business unit. Monitor and report on other risk types.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and other leaders to provide data-driven insights for decision-making, enabling informed strategic and operational choices.
  • Oversee the business unit’s IT infrastructure in partnership with the Corporate IT Team. Ensure the reliability and security of financial systems, applications, and data.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to optimize business processes, streamlining workflows and enhancing efficiency.
  • Facilitate internal and external audits, ensuring readiness and providing necessary documentation and support.
  • Act as a strategic partner to other departments, offering financial and IT expertise to support their initiatives and drive overall business success.
  • Lead long-term financial forecasting and planning, contributing to the business units growth and expansion strategies through various business cycles.
  • Explore and implement innovative technologies to enhance financial reporting, data analytics, and overall efficiency withing the business unit.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Accounting or Finance, MBA preferred
  • CPA/CMA
  • 10+ years of progressive management, accounting and financial analysis experience
  • Mix of public and private experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • ERP experience (Epicor) preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Physical Demand(s): Can lift up to 25lbs, sitting and stand for reasonable periods of time
  • Visual Demand(s): Ability to look at a computer monitor and microscope for reasonable periods of time
  • Hazard(s): Manufacturing environment. Testing equipment that requires safety precautions

Pay Transparency:

We are committed to pay transparency and equitable compensation practices. The compensation range for this position is $185,000 – $240,000 depending on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

In addition to base compensation, this role includes a comprehensive benefit package which may include health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other benefits.
