Scope of Position

Reporting to the Manufacturing Operations Finance Director, the Controllerisresponsible forfinancial oversight and management of Watts’ manufacturing facilitylocatedinFranklin, NH This individual will manage the accounting, planning & analysis, budgeting, cost records, and internal control requirements of the site. This role will support the Plant Manager and drive business/manufacturing results by partnering with the Site Management team.

This role relies heavily on analytical abilities and experience to sort through complex data and prepare meaningful information toassistmanagement with decision making, accounting deliverables, and business performance metrics and reports. As a member of both the Site Manufacturingleadershipteam and the Regional Operations Finance team,the Controllerwill work cross functionally toidentifyareas of improvement in processes and operations.

This position is fully onsite, 5 days a weekinFranklin,NHand has 3-4 direct reports.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage plant accounting/cost accounting, financial planning & analysis, and financial reporting responsibilities.

  • Work closely as the financial business partner to the Plant Manager toidentifyand measure ways for improving the profitability of the business.

  • Collaborate with business and human resources teams to drive workforce planning initiatives at the site.

  • Monitor, analyze, investigate, and report variances to standard, budget, and prior periods, as well as recommend corrective/ improvement actions.

  • Manage the development of annual operatingplanand multi-year strategic plans.

  • Develop andmaintainaccuratestandard costs

  • Perform product costing and profitability analysis, including make/buy assessments.

  • Performmonth-end financial close including journal entries, account reconciliations, payroll, etc. 

  • Perform month-end reporting and analysis activities, including preparing MOR presentations and departmental operating reviews

  • Prepare weekly financial performance projections as well as quarterly forecast updates.

  • Compile,maintain, and review operation metrics (KPI’s) for Site Management.

  • Analyze capital investment requests and ensureappropriate returns on investmentwhile managing risks. 

  • Coordinate inventory cycle count program, audit results, and ensure overall program compliance

  • Ensure maintenance ofaccurateand complete financial records in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, GAAP, and Watts Accounting Policies and Procedures.

  • Ensurea strong systemof internal controls exists and is properlymonitored

  • Provide financial measurement support for site projects (i.e.VAVE, Productivity, Cost Reduction, etc.)

  • Provide leadership and career development for direct and indirect reports. Effectively manage all leadership requirements for Watts’ performance management processes.

RequiredQualifications

  • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance. CPA or MBA preferred.

  • 10+ years’ experience in aleadershiprole in finance or accountingata manufacturing company.

  • Thorough knowledge of financial performance drivers, accounting principles,proceduresand systems with a solid understanding of accounting and internal controls.

  • Demonstrated ability to research, retrieve, organize, and summarize data to prepare reports, financial journal entries, and financial analysisandcommunicatingfinancial information to various levels of management.

  • Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights. 

  • Advanced finance business partnering experience with the ability to use data to drive financial insights and business decisions.

  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to lead, mentor and drive team development and growth.

  • Strong interpersonal,writtenand oral communication skills.

  • Ability tointerfaceand work effectively with business partners 

  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Excel,Wordand PowerPoint.

  • Experience with ERP and financial systems;SAP,PowerBIand Hyperion are a plus.

Working Conditions

While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site at a manufacturing facility and will perform the majority of your duties in an office environment.You may, at times,be requiredto be present on the manufacturing floor and will berequiredto wear theappropriate personalprotective equipment. You willbe requiredto work in the office at theFranklin, NHlocation (Monday – Friday). Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager.
