Job Description

Ranger Design is currently looking for a Controller to oversee and ensure the integrity and accuracy of all of Ranger Design’s financial reporting. Reporting to the VP Finance, this position will lead accounting in conformance with generally accepted accounting principles. Essential skills include excellent communication and organization skills and being comfortable partnering with a variety of individuals and departments within Ranger Design and affiliated companies.

Onsite Requirement: Baie D’Urfé, Qc

Main Responsibilities

This role will:

  • Oversee the accounting team.
  • Direct and coordinate financial reporting function.
  • Perform the monthly financial close process.
  • Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget and prior year.
  • Perform daily operations of the accounting department.
  • Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable team members.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts as well as ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements.
  • Implement department goals, objectives, and operating procedures.
  • Assist the corporate accounting team with audits, as required, and provide recommendations for process improvements.
  • Coordinate, control, reconcile, and report physical inventory results.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in finance, accounting or economics is a plus.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, management experience a strong asset.
  • Public Accounting experience preferred.
  • CPA license a plus (active status not a concern).
  • Experience in ERP reporting systems (Epicor is a plus).
  • Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal financial regulations.
  • Knowledge of general ledger accounting, cost accounting, budgeting, and internal control principles in a manufacturing environment, including a working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare/present financial reports, statements, and projections.
  • Experience motivating people to produce quality results within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage multiple projects.
  • Strong professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule as needed.

Quebec candidates: While French is required for Quebec-based roles, use of the English language is also required due to the nature of the business and the need to interact with Ranger’s US sites, clients and customers.
