Job DetailsJob Location: Saint Albans, VT 05478Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $48.00 - $52.00 HourlyNorthwestern Counseling & Support Services, Inc. based in St. Albans, VT, is seeking a skilled and forward-thinking Controller to lead our accounting operations and annual audit for a $60M community mental health agency. This role supports four core divisions and ensures accurate financial reporting and compliance with external partners, including the State of Vermont, federal agencies, and grant funders.
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and brings at least five years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably within human services or a similar field. A strong foundation in general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and budgeting systems are essential, along with advanced Microsoft Excel skills and sharp analytical thinking. Experience with federal, state, and private grant management, as well as Medicaid and other healthcare reimbursement models, is highly valued.
Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will also provide supervisory support to a collaborative and cross-trained team.
