Job Location

Hybrid, in San Diego CA.

GALT Aerospace is seeking a full-time, salaried Controller to lead and direct GALT's accounting functions. This position reports directly to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). Key responsibilities include establishing and maintaining the Company's overall accounting systems, procedures, and policies, directing all analysis and reporting of accounting information (including monthly Executive Team financial reviews, planning, and required filings and reports), and presenting findings and recommendations to the Executive Team. Additional duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the full cycle of the month-end and year-end closing processes with proper journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Manage and report weekly cash forecast
  • Analyze and reconcile accounting data
  • Generate, validate and submit customer invoices
  • Generate and submit provisional indirect dates and Incurred Cost Proposals (ICPs)
  • Support CPA reviews, DCAA audits and GAAP and FAR compliance
  • Prepare and file tax filings, with support from CPAs
  • Manager policies and procedures, including reviews, updates and creating new policies or procedures as needed
  • Perform periodic financial analysis of indirect costs and variances to the budget
  • Maintain Charge Code Authorization Process
  • Manage all aspects of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) accounting system
  • Manage the Company's Dun & Bradstreet (D&R) account and reporting
  • Manage project structure, WBS and project assignments
  • Work closely with Director of Financial Planning and Analysis
  • Work well with all other departments, including Programs, Contracts, HR, Purchasing, etc.
  • Assist with the quarterly and annual budgeting process
  • Any other projects as assigned by the CAO

Required Skills, Experience, and Education

  • BS or BA degree in accounting or finance
  • 10 + years of accounting experience
  • 8+ years of managerial experience
  • Advanced MS Excel knowledge and skills
  • US Citizen
  • Knowledge and experience with all types of Government contracts (CPFF,FFP,T&M,other)
  • Knowledge and experience with FAR, CAS and DCAA compliance
  • Knowledge and experience WAWF/DFAS Government payment system and processes
  • Knowledge of GAAP
  • Great attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and self-disciplined individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Skills, Experience and Education

  • Familiarity with Unanet ERP system
  • Familiarity with Costpoint ERP system

Pay Scale

At GALT Aerospace, base pay is one part of the total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as one grows and develops within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $200,000-$250,000, and a specific candidate's base pay will depend on their skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
