The company is committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive and high-performing workplace. It offers an environment where innovation, responsiveness and technical excellence are recognised and rewarded.

The Opportunity

This role plays a key part in ensuring the performance, resilience and security of control systems across all campuses. Working across engineering, operations and ICT functions, the Control Systems Lead will take ownership of platform standardisation, project design review, commissioning, and continuous improvement of building management and automation systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture and documentation of control systems including BMS, EMS, PLC and SCADA, ensuring they meet critical infrastructure standards.

  • Review and contribute to design packages, tender submissions, and technical specifications for new developments and infrastructure upgrades.

  • Support commissioning activities and validate system readiness for operation.

  • Review technical change requests, MOPs and procedures to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational effectiveness.

  • Provide technical guidance and act as a subject matter expert for operational teams requiring support with troubleshooting or design input.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, lead training efforts and mentor junior technical staff.

  • Contribute to the development of governance frameworks and processes relating to industrial control systems, including cybersecurity and lifecycle management.

About You

You are a technically capable and hands-on control systems specialist with a track record in critical infrastructure environments. You bring both the operational awareness and engineering rigour to improve and maintain secure, high-availability platforms.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data centres, critical infrastructure or automation-heavy environments.

  • Strong understanding of control systems design, deployment and maintenance (BMS, PLCs, SCADA, EMS).

  • Previous involvement in multidisciplinary engineering or construction projects.

  • Experience preparing or reviewing MOPs, SOPs, EOPs and SWMS for both planned and reactive work.

  • Trade qualification or tertiary degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.

  • Ability to operate effectively in high-security environments with strict change control and governance.

  • Excellent stakeholder communication and collaboration skills.

  • High attention to detail and structured problem-solving ability.

Desirable:

  • Experience with leading control platforms (e.g. Schneider, Siemens, Honeywell, Tridium).

  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards (e.g. AS/NZS 3000, NCC, ISO 27001 for OT/ICS).

  • Experience working on government, defence or mission-critical infrastructure.

Whats on Offer

  • A strategic leadership opportunity with national scope across Australia and New Zealand.

  • Exposure to cutting-edge, secure data centre environments and large-scale projects.

  • Competitive salary package and long-term career development pathways.

  • Join a growing technical team in a high-trust, high-impact environment.
