Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Use of control system and control theory fundamental for achieving the desired target of process attributes.
  • Understand the objective of project requirements, analyze the problems on the basis of classical or modern control theory, and propose appropriate solutions.
  • Work with different COE team members in projects to achieve project objectives.
  • Hardware related work like machine assembly, installation and cable wirings; Software related work like program on control kernels, UI, system models, simulations, AI related implementations.
  • Participate in all stages of manufacturing processes.
  • Transfer of technology to manufacturing operation with full implementation of training and documentation systems (SOP, SOS and Training). 

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Possess a basic understanding of the hardware and software of control systems. With experience of system integration & design is a plus.
  • Fundamental understanding of system modeling and simulation.
  • Fundamental understanding of classical control and modern control theory.
  • Basic understanding and experience of control system/algorithm design and implementation by control development tools (e.g. MATLAB, Python, C++…etc.)
  • Familiar with PC based programming (C++, C#, Python…etc.) and/or PLC programming skills (Rockwell, Mitsubishi, Siemens etc.) 

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • Understanding of Electrical standard, safety and code compliance.
  • Image signal processing and vision system design experience.
  • CNC control, Robot control, AGV control experience.
  • Fundamental understanding of industrial communication protocol. (RS232/RS48, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Profibus, CAN, Modbus, CC-Link, EtherNet/IP, Profinet, TCP/IP etc.)
  • Fundamental understanding of AI technologies in the field of control engineering.
