Job Description

The engineer is a member of the customer facing KAS (Kemin Application Solutions) team. The KAS team is responsible for the product application systems and services that Kemin offers to its customers. This position is responsible for the development and the assembly of advanced liquid application systems from request to solution. Actively participate in the development and integration of advanced and tailor-made application solutions. Complete installations and start up at customers. Typical day-to-day activities include manufacturing of applicators, providing engineering support to customers and field engineers. Test compatibility of new Kemin products with the KAS application systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative software solutions to maximize the applicator efficiency & to minimize downtime.
  • Provide day-to-day monitoring and support via telephone, email, and remote access software.
  • Programming, configuration, integration and implementation of liquid dosing systems.
  • Strive to maintain high product quality standards by designing test procedures and methods.
  • Drawings - Electrical and Mechanical – Develop detailed drawings for manufacturing. Design, layout, and detail components for systems, and resolve design problems.
  • Develop P&ID’s, electrical schematics, user manuals and installation guides.
  • Assist on-with site equipment installations, commissioning an,d give training to the local operators.
  • Perform risk assessment.
  • Foster a positive team environment and assist co-workers as required.
  • Assist other team members with better understanding of programming.
  • Receive goods, receive approval.
  • Carry out QC on goods, materials, etc and report to QC problems.
  • Introduce and maintain Bill of Materials as necessary.
  • Identify and report competitor activities on the market.
  • Manage Technical Dossier of all applicators, including risk assessment, CE, etc.
  • Scheduled visits to clients.
  • Stock control and ordering of PLC and relevant equipment.
  • System FAT & SAT as required from time to time.
  • Callouts to customer sites when and if needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience in TIA portal, WinCC, SQL-Server, OPC-Server/Client, Profinet, Profibus, Modbus, IO-link.
  • Strong affinity for industrial automation.
  • Profound knowledge and understanding of electrical schemes are crucial.
  • Understanding of PLC programming, field bus systems and software development.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems and perform system tests.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Highly motivated self-starter, with an outgoing personality, is highly organized and can work independently and in a team

ADDITIONAL DESIRED/TYPICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

  • Experience in Feed mill process technology.
  • Experience in liquid dosing systems.

Education/Experience:

  • Trade in Millwright, Electrical or Mechatronics.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in an industrial environment.
  • Experience in feed milling needed.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to analyze and solve complex problems.

Physical Demands:

  • Physically demanding in a workshop environment as well as on-site with clients.

Work Environment:

  • Typical manufacturing and milling environment.
  • Travel will be required.
